Hopeless Romantics and the People Who Snub Them

Hopeless: desperate; without hope; impossible to acomplish

Romantic: fanciful; unrealistic; passionate

If you look at those two definitions, they actually do fit together... desperate and unrealistic.

Its actually quite sad to be considered a hopless romantic. To be doomed to the same life of unrealistic dreams, and desperate to achieve them... yet without hope.

Is it sad that I still, after knowing the definition, prefer to be a hopeless romantic?

I prefer to have the unrealistc dreams in love and not achieve them than settle.

The love I have, and there is a lot, is unrequited everytime I try to give it, and yet I still try.

Because I believe that one day I will find the one that I can give my love to, and she will return it with the same passion and joy that I have.

Is that a realistic dream?

Or am I just being a hopeless romantic once again?

First off I want to thank Bildo this piece about hopeless romantics.

I don't think that these so called
"hopeless" romantics are truly hopeless. They are I believe the most hopeful of all the people out there. I might consider myself one among these people but I am not truly hopeless. In fact I do all the things that some would consider dorky because I hope that because of it someone might be made to smile if only for even the slightest moment.

Well Bildo I know that you know all of this but I am just saying are you really hopeless or in fact are you the opposite?

The point of this piece is not to say that hopeless romantics are in fact "hopeless"... it is to point out the irony of the term. Infact, the whole double negative thing really sets it up. A double negative turns to a positive. And with "negative" meaning to both words, they cancel eachother out, making it a positive. So it is a good thing to be a hopeless romantic, it proves that you have dreams, that you can love with your whole heart (no matter how many times it gets broken), and that you are trying to find a meaningful relationship other than a one night stand...
